In our Spanish lesson #63 (Spanish Free Lessons Online) I will show you some of the most common mistakes and confusions between English and Spanish when dealing with very huge numbers. For example: “1 billion” (1.000.000.000) is not the same as “1 billón” (1.000.000.000.000). This confusion is very frequent among Spanish speaking journalists when they translate financial information from English, usually when talking about GDP and huge figures.
We will also see the difference between the English and Spanish numerical notation.
Although we are focussing more on vocabulary and grammar, pay attention to the Spanish pronunciation of these video lessons, and remember to practice repeating the same words and sounds.
