Spanish Lesson 261
Spanish pronunciation
How to pronounce Spanish correctly
Spanish pronunciation is usually hazardous to many English speakers because of the rolling “RR” sound and the very open vowels.
In the present class I will focus on a few particularly difficult to pronounce Spanish words. Lets practice Spanish pronunciation with these particularly hazardous words. The purpose is to get the muscles of your mouth become familiar with the Spanish pronunciation of letters, sounds and syllables.
Another uncommon sound in English, but which is very common in Spanish, is the “nm” sound. In English we rather use “mm” instead.
Spanish is very prone to laziness regarding the stress and marked pronunciation of double consonants and final consonants. And that is pretty evident with Spanish speakers speaking in English.
On the other hand, it’s hard for English speakers to reproduce the very open vowels from Spanish; and, of course, the cursed rolling “RR”.
