Spanish alphabet: How to pronounce each letter properly

 

While this series of the Spanish alphabet is good and is the basis for the Spanish quizzes that I’ve posted on my website, I suggest you to first watch the remake of the beginning of my free Spanish course. It is a much improved version. Later you can jump back to the older videos.

The Spanish alphabet is mostly like the English one, except for one or two letters. But what is more important is how each letter must be pronounced, and the different pronunciations one single letter may have, depending on its combination with other letters.

In our first lesson we’ll learn the Spanish alphabet and how to pronounce each word and each sound. This will just be a very brief introduction to phonetics, but if you are going to start learning Spanish from zero, this will be the best first approach.

If you would like to go much deeper into each letter of the Spanish alphabet, and learn relevant Spanish vocabulary related with each letter (such as: male/female given names, names for fruits, false cognates, adverbs, regular/irregular verbs, names of animals, adjectives, etc), then you may want to take a look at this series:
