Spanish pronunciation and the ROLLING R

The rolling R is maybe the toughest sound for native English speakers. And viceversa, I think the English R may also be the toughest for native Spanish speakers. The Spanish rolling R is used when the R appears at the beginning of any word, or when the R is doubled (RR). Otherwise, it is pronounced smoother. Like in ARMARIO, ARO, AUREOLA, ARISTA, etc.

Here’s a short video to practice this sound a bit. Don’t forget to comment or write your questions if you have any.

If you’d like to start learning Spanish from the beginning let me suggest this video: https://youtu.be/Sd7fZia_nEk

In this portal you will also find the full list of Spanish lessons by visiting the INDEX.

By clicking HERE you will find the Spanish tests and quizzes.

And HERE are the listening-comprehension exercise.

Bear in mind that all the Spanish lessons as well as the tests, quizzes and exercises are totally FREE. You can do any quiz any time you want and repeat them as many times as you wish. Once you have finished answering, just click on the FINISH button. And after 5-10 seconds you will automatically see the results and correction on the screen.

I strongly recommend complementing my video-lessons with the tests and quizzes. They have proven to be very effective to accelerate the learning process. They can also reveal mistakes that you may not be aware of. And, of course, they will help greatly to reaffirm what you have already learned.
